Less than two weeks before Christmas, a West Salt Lake man's holiday spirit was dampened Monday when he attempted to turn on his outdoor Christmas lights and found them missing.

The man, 68, discovered about 8:30 p.m. Monday that every colored light in his outdoor Christmas display had been taken, leaving only the strands of empty cords, a Salt Lake police report says.The lights, valued at approximately $20, were there the night before, he told police.
