Fog will likely blanket most of Utah by Thursday night and Friday and will continue into the early part of the weekend.
"The air is very moist, and a high-pressure system is building, creating widespread areas of night and morning fog and low clouds," said William J. Alder, meteorologist in charge of the Salt Lake office of the National Weather Service.Light snow, generally ranging from an inch to 2 inches, fell early Thursday from Cache Valley south and west to Nephi, Delta and Dugway. Some areas of south Sandy reported about 3 inches, and the Cottonwood canyon resorts had received 2 to 4 inches of new snow as of 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Temperatures along the Wasatch Front and some other areas will be in the mid-20s Thursday night and mid-30s Friday. A little rain, but no fog, is forecast for St. George. Temperatures reached about 50 degrees Thursday and will be in the low 50s Friday.
