City Council members accepted the resignation of Blair Painter from the city's board of adjustments recently.

"As financial adviser to the city, I feel serving on the board of adjustments is a conflict of interest," said Painter.Painter said it would be difficult to enforce the city ordinances as an employee and then grant a variance as a member of the board.

Complimenting his service, council members accepted Painter's resignation.

Randy McKnight, city administrator, pointed out that it was time the city reorganize the board, with many previous resignations leaving the board in need of reappointment.
