Tupou Mu'amoholeva, 79, was born to Tevita Mesui Paongo of Koulo Ha'apai and Salote Manutapu Momotu of Kolonga, Tonga.

He married Teuila Kalesita Tukia of Nukualofa, Tonga.

Survived by daughter, Ilaisaane M. Kioa (Ofa Peni); six grandchildren, Mahina Tua'one, Epalahame Tua'one, Cindy (Lopiseni) Kinikini, Teuila Tua'one, Ofaloto Winchester, Stacey Tua'one; three great-grandchildren, Ema and Domenic Kinikini, Lini Winchester, all of Salt Lake City; sisters, Ana Valeti Langi, Mele Kaloafu Mesui, Mele Lopasi of Tonga; Kato Mesui of Salt Lake; four brothers, Sione Pupungatoa, Sione Fakapelea, Siaosi Halakitaua of Tonga; Otutolu Mesui of New Zealand. Preceded in death by wife; parents; two great-grandchildren, Siteli and Cindy Mapa; two brothers, Metui Mesui; Tanginoa Langi; one sister, Vaheilala Langi.

Tupou lived in the Tongan Islands most of his life and immigrated with his family to America at age 68. Tupou by trade was a fisherman, farmer, and a navigator. He was a great example of service as a pioneer of the LDS Church. He served over 20 years as a builder, missionary, and kept records in its early years. He also served many years in the Tonga Military.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Jordan 2nd Ward, 4145 South 3920 West. Friends may call Friday, 6-11 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, and at the church Saturday, one hour prior.
