Franklin Quest Co. Friday reported record earnings of $9.9 million for its 1994 first fiscal quarter ended Nov. 30, a 30 percent jump over the same period last year.
Earnings per share were 46 cents for the first quarter, up from 36 cents for the first quarter of fiscal 1993.Sales for the quarter increased 28 percent to $56.4 million.
Retail stores sales of $12.1 million were up 67 percent from the year-ago quarter. The company has 39 retail stores in operation and noted a strong increase in store sales resulting from 11 store openings in eight states during the quarter.
Catalog, direct product, and seminar sales grew 16 percent, 85 percent, and 11 percent, respectively, during the quarter over year-ago period.
