Taylorsville used a huge third quarter outburst to push aside pesky Timpview 76-47 and advance to the championship game against Alta at the Alta High Tournament. Taylorsville led by seven at halftime but outscored Timpview 24-9 in the third quarter.
Alta 72, Clearfield 47
Brad Wilden scored 15 for Alta, which used a tough pressure defense to disrupt Clearfield. Adam Sharp added 12 for the Hawks, who will meet Taylorsville at 8 p.m. for the tournament title.
Rowland Hall 91, East Carbon 29
At Rowland Hall, the Winged Lions remained undefeated on the season with the win, improving to 6-0 overall.
Cottonwood 58, Layton 56
At Layton, a 19-12 third quarter helped the Colts (4-2) defeat the Lancers (3-4). Tyson Murdock led the Lancers with 18 points.
Emery 59, Delta 57
At Delta, after trailing by 11 at halftime, Emery (6-1, 1-0) tied the game heading into the fourth quarter and eked out the win down the stretch. Stephen Grant scored 22 points for the Spartans while Joel Taylor and Jeff Anderson scored 13 points each for Delta (3-4, 0-1).
Pine View 62, Enterprise 50
At Pine View, Ryan Lewis' 22 points paced Pine View (5-3) which had to overcame a sluggish third quarter. Robbie Banks led Enterprise with 27 points.
