A six-person committee, chaired by University of Wyoming president Terry Roark, has been formed to begin the search process for a successor to commissioner Joe Kearney.

Kearney has been commissioner of the WAC since 1980 and has the longest tenure in league history. He announced earlier that he will retire on July 1, 1994.Other members of the committe include former BYU athletic director Glenn Tuckett, Fresno State president John Welty, New Mexico president Richar Peck, UTEP representative Robert Tollen and Colorado State senior woman administrator Marsha Smeltzer.
