Sixth-graders who wanted to improve their math skills sent letters to Kennecott Corp. asking for support in obtaining calculators. The copper company responded by contributing $2,000 to buy three classroom sets of Texas Instrument Explorer calculators."I was drawn to supporting their request because it was students who were asking," said Kennecott Community Affairs Manager Louie Cononelos. "It's nice to see students truly interested in their education."
