Carl was an unpretentious man with simple taste, but a warm human being with a genuine love for other people. He extended his friendship and assistance to those he found in need, particularly the elderly, all of his life. He was a very special grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle to the children in his extended family. Fishing, his favorite sport, provided peace and tranquility in the beauty of nature. He never missed an opening day until he was in his 80's and especially enjoyed this sport in the company of his sons. His wit and humor brought a bright moment to all who touched his life. Even in the past three years when he required assistance in daily living, the staff, the residents, and all the visitors knew and loved this cheerful, gentle man.
