Shaquille O'Neal scored 27 points and grabbed 17 rebounds and three other players had 16 points each to lead Orlando to a 97-91 victory over Sacramento on Sunday night.
Anfernee Hardaway, Scott Skiles and Nick Anderson had 16 apiece for the Magic, which closed a five-game road trip with a 3-2 record. Mitch Richmond led Sacramento with 32 points and Wayman Tisdale added 22 points and 10 rebounds.The loss was the Kings' eighth straight at home, breaking the team's Sacramento-era record. It tied a 1971-72 franchise record when the Kings were known as the Royals and played in Cincinnati.
O'Neal, coming off a 36-point, 15-rebound effort in a win at Phoenix, was held to two points in the fourth quarter as the Kings came back from an 88-75 deficit with 7:44 to play.
Richmond had five points in an 11-2 run, and his two free throws pulled the Kings within 90-86 with 4:04 to go. Richmond's 3-pointer with 1:59 to play made it 93-89, but the Kings got no closer.
Trail Blazers 93, Bucks 81
In Portland, Ore., Terry Porter scored 17 points and Portland beat Milwaukee but lost Clyde Drexler for two to three weeks with a severely sprained ankle.
Drexler was taken from the court on a stretcher late in the second period, but x-rays on his left ankle were negative. The seven-time All-Star was having one of his best games of the season with eight points, eight assists and six rebounds in 17 minutes.
Frank Brickowski led the Bucks with 15 points and Eric Murdock added 12.
Portland led 52-41 at halftime, then held the Bucks scoreless for almost four minutes in the third period and built a 70-53 lead.
Cavaliers 122, Lakers 92
In Richfield, Ohio, Mark Price had 21 points and John Williams was perfect from the floor as Cleveland stopped a five-game losing streak.
The Cavs handed the Lakers their third straight loss and their seventh in the last eight games. The Lakers, off to their worst start since 1966, have lost five in a row at the Richfield Coliseum.
