Twelve University of Utah students have been awarded engineering scholarships as part of the Engineering Clinic Program.
Nine students in electrical engineering, two in chemical and fuels engineering and one in metallurgical engineering received full or partial $1,000 scholarships. The money came from interest on donations for an endowed chair in engineering.Established by Magdy F. Iskander, clinic director and professor of electrical engineering, the Engineering Clinic Program provides undergraduate students with real-world research experience.
Scholarship winners are Martin Johnson, Casey Moore, Stefen Munford, Dann Ringwood, Jim Shumway, Dave Smith, P. Scott Turner, Yijun Wang and Dennis Huy Phan in electrical engineering; Justin Meads and Michael Stubblefield in chemical and fuels engineering, and Deborah Bauman in metallurgical engineering.
