The Utah Department of Transportation is looking for volunteers to serve on a citizens advisory committee studying the design of U.S. 189 through Provo Canyon.

As the design of the road continues into Wasatch County, engineers are looking for approx-imately 30 people willing to study the project and make recommendations. Meetings are scheduled once every six weeks. Some people who were serving on the committee have dropped out now that it has finishing studying the lower part of the canyon. Officials hope to replace them with people who are concerned about the upper section of the canyon.

Committee members who assisted in the design of the lower part of the canyon offered a different perspective. Many of their suggestions were implemented in the design of the road.
