Ervin Stevenson McDonald, 87, died Saturday, December 18, 1993 at his home.

He was born February 10, 1906 in Holladay, Utah, a son of Francis and Rozella Stevenson McDonald. He married Ruby Zondervon on October 9, 1936 in the Manti LDS Temple. He graduated from Granite High School and received his B.S. Degree from the University of Utah. He also attended the University of California. He had lived in Idaho for the past three years; California for 44 years and in Ogden for the past 22 years.He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his entire life. He was a member of the Ogden 78th Ward. He served in many positions of leadership including three different bishoprics. He served in the Ogden Temple and Ogden Family History Center. He worked on family genealogy intensively.

Mr. McDonald had taught school in Thorton, Idaho; Marysvale, Utah; Hamilton City, California; Benicia, California and in San Francisco, California for 25 years. He was a member of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers and Phi Delta Kappa.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby of Ogden; two daughters, Kathleen M. Cardon and husband, Dr. Bartel W. Cardon, Logan; Margaret M. Allen and husband, Clair L. Allen, Vienna, Virginia; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph S. McDonald, Salt Lake City; Stevenson McDonald, St. George. He was preceded in death by one brother, seven sisters, six brothers and three half-sisters.

Funeral services will be held Weds at 11 a.m. at the Ogden 78th Ward Chapel, 5640 South 850 East, South Ogden, with Bishop Richard McConkie officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Tues from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Wed. at the Ward Chapel from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City.
