Keats Christian (K.C.) Horstmann, eldest son of Keats and Joyce Horstmann, passed away peacefully and valiantly on December 19, 1993, at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, from complications following surgery.

K.C. was born March 4, 1971 in Ogden, Utah. He had resided in Farmington and Layton, and he was currently living at the West Jordan Care Center. He was a beautiful, courageous young man who blessed and inspired the lives of all those who knew him and loved him.K.C. is survived by his parents, of Layton; three younger brothers, Brett, serving in the Texas Dallas Spanish Mission; Seth and Tony, both of Layton; grandmother, Mickey Winnett, Sioux Falls, So. Dakota; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 North Fairfield Rd., Layton, with a private interment immediately following. There will be no viewing. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to ReLife, in care of West Jordan Care Center, 3350 West 7800 South, West Jordan, Utah, 84084, for the benefit of handicapped persons.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the teachers and caregivers at Monte Vista School, Jordan Valley School, South Davis Community Care Center, and West Jordan Care Center, as well as all the friends and neighbors who helped K.C. over the years.
