A brave and courageous love, Gina Lynn
Marrelli, followed the light into Heaven, December 19, 1993, after she died at home surrounded by her family.Gina was born March 8, 1972 in Salt Lake City to Randy J. and Nora Valdez Marrelli. She graduated from West High School, 1990, with honors and was awarded several scholarships. She excelled in track, cross country and girls' basketball. She was involved in pep club, color guard, peer leadership team, and D.A.R.E. She attended Salt Lake Community College and was a member of SLCC Activities Board and SLCC Freshman Leadership Council. Gina was also a very active volunteer and fund raiser for the American Cancer Society and Primary Children's Hospital for six years. Gina had a love for people and always thought of others first.
"There are in the end three things that last: Faith, Hope and Love, and the greatest of these is Love." 1 Cor. 13, 13. Gina, we are now left with the challenge of living our lives without you.
Gina is survived by her parents; her friend and only sister, Jennifer; grandparents, Aurelia Marrelli; Ross and Elsie Valdez; great-grandmother, Josephine Marrelli. She has also left behind her loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by her grandfather, Joseph L. Marrelli.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone involved in Gina's care and our friends at Kennecott and Litton for all of their prayers, love and support.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 East South Temple. A vigil service will be held Wednesday, 7 p.m. at the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call Wednesday, 6-7 p.m. Committal service, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
