Elmer Thomas Leake, Jr., age 68, passed away at his home December 18, 1993.

He was born July 31, 1925 in Bountiful, Utah, a son of Elmer and Beatrice Leake. Graduated from West High School. He married Marcile Rueckert July 21, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served his country during World War II in the Army and served 39 years as a Salt Lake County Sheriff Deputy.He played professional football for the Salt Lake Seagulls, past president of the Utah Peace Officers Association, 1977-1978, past president of the International Footprinters Association, Antelope Island Chapter #3, member of the Old Time Athletes Association, and member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Brent and wife, Margaret; Paul and wife, Ann; Mark and wife, Nancy. Three grandchildren, Jessica, Emilee and Ashleigh; stepmother, Retta Leake of Glendora, Calif. Preceded in death by daughter, Suzanne; brother and parents.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 23, 1993, 12 noon, at the Cottonwood Heights 4th Ward, 2522 East 6710 South. Friends may call Wednesday, December 22, 6-8 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3110 East 7800 South, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates.
