Fans of fresh cranberries should have enjoyed them on Thanksgiving. They may not be seeing any at Christmas.

Ocean Spray, the nation's biggest buyer and processor of the fruit, isn't offering fresh cranberries to retailers for Christmas because of disappointing crops.Chris Phillips, a spokesman for the Massachusetts-based cooperative, said supplies of fresh cranberries were adequate for Thanksgiving demand.

Fresh cranberries are a relatively small segment of the market, accounting for less than 5 percent of overall production. The bulk of the fresh crop is consumed around Thanksgiving.
