I am not in Karen Shepherd's congressional district, but I had to write and say that no one has done for Utah what Shepherd has done. She exceeded our expectations in the way she ignores her constituency. Nearly every piece of legislation she has voted for was contrary to her constituency. When my friends who live in her district wrote and called to disagree with her vote, her workers argued with them.

A story in the Deseret News last summer read: "Shepherd gains reward for supporting deficit bill." It also stated, "Bill Orton, D-Utah, expects stiff punishment for opposing it." I am glad I live in a district that has Orton representing me in Washington.Noel D. Thornley
