Huntsman Specialty Chemicals Corp. said Friday it has completed the acquisition of Monsanto Co.'s linear alkyl benzene (LAB) and maleic anhydride (MAn) businesses.

Average annual revenues for the two companies is said to be $200 million. Purchase price was not disclosed.A spokesman for Huntsman said the acquisitions make the Salt Lake City-based Huntsman Specialty Chemicals the largest producer of maleic anhydride in the world. The chemical is used in a wide variety of consumer products, including auto parts, bathroom fixtures, bowling balls, motor oil and marine construction applications.
