Two hot boys' high school basketball teams met on Tuesday night and put on a playoff-type display for the onlooking fans.
When all was said and done, Bountiful ended up handing Tooele its first loss of the season with a 55-52 victory. The 5A Braves improved to 7-1 on the season with the win while the 4A Buffaloes fell to the same 7-1 mark.Tooele used its home court advantage to take two point lead at halftime at 27-25. The Buffaloes improved on that margin early in the third quarter, building up an eight point lead midway through the period.
Bountiful then made its move behind the shooting of Dave Hibbert and Brett Allen. The Braves put together an 18-6 run through the rest of the third quarter and into the fourth to grab a four point advantage that it would never relinquish.
The Buffaloes were able to narrow the gap down to one but could never get back the lead. The win marked the first time in five years that Bountiful had picked up a win in Tooele.
Hibbert led the Braves with 19 points while Allen added 12. Drew Hansen and Greig Warner combined for 35 points to lead Tooele.

Lehi 62, Jordan 44
At Jordan, the Pioneers pulled off a big road win over the Beetdiggers. Lehi (6-5) received 15 points from Wyatt Cutler and 14 from Lane Andrus as the Pioneers pulled away in the fourth quarter for the 18-point win.
Davis 57, Layton 51
At Davis, the Darts played well enough when it counted to defeat the visiting Lancers. Chad Bessinger scored 19 points for Davis (4-4). Trevor Black paced Layton with 12 points.
West Jordan 58, Skyline 54
At Skyline, Brian Alfre's 14-point third quarter outburst led the Jaguars to a victory over the Eagles. Alfre scored 29 points for West Jordan (4-4) to lead all scorers while Dave Johnson tossed in 21 to lead Skyline (2-5).
Cottonwood 70, Hunter 61
At Cottonwood, the Colts used a third quarter surge to come from behind and defeat the Wolverines. Forward Scott Geertsen tossed in 20 points for Cottonwood (5-2), which came from four points down at halftime to take a three point lead at the end of the third quarter. Tony Sweat scored 28 points for Hunter but was held to just eight in the second half.
Taylorsville 65, Hillcrest 57
At Taylorsville, the Warriors used a 15-4 second quarter to propel them past the Huskies. Taylorsville (5-4) used 18 points from Greg Blake and 17 from Scott Benson to garner the victory.
Bingham 117, Park City 55
At Bingham, the battle of the Miners turned out to be a walk in the park for the home team. Bingham (5-1) raced out to a 31-14 lead at the end of the first quarter, snuffing out any upset thoughts Park City (3-5) might have had. Jason Kemp and Quynn Tebbs led a balanced Bingham attack with 20 points each.
Ben Lomond 60, Granite 49
At Ben Lomond, the Scots jumped out to a lead in the first quarter and held on to defeat the Farmers. Senior Cliff Williams played big for Ben Lomond (3-4), scoring 28 points and grabbing 15 rebounds to lead the way to victory.
Olympus 65, Kearns 58
At Kearns, Greg Barratt's 21 points helped the Titans grab a road win over the Cougars. Ty Church added 20 for Olympus, which led 37-23 at halftime and held on for the win.
Highland 58, Judge 40
At Highland, the Rams continued their successful preseason by downing the Bulldogs. Highland (7-2) held Judge (2-3) to single-digit scoring in all but the fourth quarter in its first game with 5A football MVP Matt Cannon, who was out of action from a late-season football injury.
Brighton 60, Provo 59 OT
At Provo, Robbie Yates sank two free throws with six seconds left in overtime to push the Bengals past the Bulldogs. Yates led Brighton (4-3) with 24 points, including three buckets from beyond the 3-point arc. Provo (5-3) used a fourth quarter rally to send the game into overtime but came up short. The Bulldogs' Jeff Liddiard led all scorers with 25 points.
Mountain View 83, Timpview 69
At Timpview, the Bruins continued their perfect preseason with a road win over the Thunderbirds. Mountain View (9-0) slowly increased its lead throughout the game and used good shooting to seal the win. Nathan Chappell and Jamie Jeffords scored 20 points each for the Bruins while Mike Johnson led Timpview (4-5) with 18.
Pine View 51, West View, Ariz. 37
At Bullhead City, Ariz., the Panthers used a great first half to defeat West View and advance to the championship of the Matador Shootout. Ryan Lewis led Pine View (8-3) with 19 points, after the Panthers had won their first game of the tournament on Monday 48-28. Tonight, Pine View will meet Brofe Prep out of Mesa, Ariz., in the finals.
