There was a terrible accident at the intersection of 400 East and South Temple in front of LDS Business College on Dec. 3. This accident involved a student being hit by a car. Drivers just don't seem to notice that there is a crosswalk at that intersection and that they need to watch for pedestrians crossing. True, there are signs indicating that the crosswalk is approaching, but the drivers just speed on through.
I have nearly been hit several times crossing at that intersection. Letters have been written to the mayor and the traffic department. Is it going to take several people getting killed or hit in the intersection before a light is put up?There are several stoplights on South Temple. But I feel that the intersection at 400 East and South Temple really needs one because it is right in front of a school, and we as citizens and students at LDS Business College need to feel a sense of safety as we cross the street.
