Matt Christensen, son of David and Karen Christensen and a sixth-grader at William Penn Elementary; Marianne Ickes, daughter of Dennis and Susan Ickes and a fifth-grader at Crestview Elementary, and Allison Morgan, daughter of Rob and Jody Morgan and a sixth-grader at Upland Terrace Elementary, have each taken the first step in becoming an internationally recognized artist by winning a local poster competition sponsored by the East Millcreek Lions Club.
The posters are among thousands of entries submitted worldwide in the sixth annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest. Students were asked to create posters that portrayed the contest's theme, "A Journey To Peace."One grand prize winner will be selected from 24 international finalists. Matt, Marianne, and Allison will each receive a $50 U.S. savings bond from the East Millcreek Lions Club.
