A rollover on I-215 west that went unnoticed for hours Tuesday left the driver dead, and a Washington man died in an accident in Summit County Monday.
Killed in the accidents were:Travis Guy Snarr, 22, Taylorsville.
Thomas H. Tutt, 54, Yakima, Wash.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Snarr's westbound vehicle left the road and rolled down the embankment from I-215 at 1400 West sometime early Tuesday. Snarr was thrown from the vehicle.
A passing truck driver saw the car off the road early Tuesday morning. When he drove by again in the afternoon and the car was still there, he stopped his truck to investigate and then called the UHP at 2:40 p.m.
Monday afternoon, Gregory L. Martinez, 35, of Roy, was westbound on I-80 near the Wyoming border when he apparently lost control, crossed to the eastbound lanes and hit another vehicle head-on, the UHP reported.
Tutt, the driver of the second car, was killed in the accident. Lynn R. Tutt, 39, also of Yakima, was airlifted to University Hospital. She was in serious condition Wednesday, a spokeswoman said. Martinez and a passenger were treated for minor injuries and later released.
