LaVinia Hurst Norton, 94, died in Sandy, Utah, December 20, 1993 of a stroke.

Born December 8, 1899 to Samuel H. Hurst and Elizabeth Bateman in Lund, Idaho. Married Henry L. Norton May 16, 1919 in the Logan LDS Temple. Was active member of the LDS Church, serving as president of the MIA and Relief Society, served a stake mission and was a member of the DAR. Loved gardening, canning, handwork, and was known for her quilts.She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Myrle Carlson; two granddaughters, one sister, and eight brothers.

She is survived by sons, Wally Norton, St. George; Ray Norton, Pocatello; daughters, Mrs. Vaughn (Nina) Wadsworth, Idaho Falls; Evva Nebel, Rexburg; Donna Okelberry, Declo; Mrs. Clyde (Bennetta) Wixom, Sandy; Mrs. Lee (Joan) Wilson, Portland, Oregon; brother, Howard Hurst, Murray; 47 grandchildren; 152 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 27, 11 a.m. at the LDS 2nd Ward, Burley, Idaho (16th and Elba). Visitation Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the McCulloch Funeral Home, 321 E. Main, Burley. Burial: Declo Cemetery.
