Dale Franklin Backman, 68, died December 20, 1993 at his home in Federal Way, Washington of lymphoma.
He was born June 1, 1925 in Salt Lake City, a son of Frank G. and Audrey M. Backman. He married Dorothy Jeanne Carter, December 12, 1945 in Salt Lake; solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, December 12, 1980. Presently an ordinance worker in the Seattle LDS Temple.Graduate of West High School, Eagle Scout, U.S. Navy pilot during World War II, Major in U.S. Air Force, serving as a fighter pilot in Korea. Retired Federal Aviation Administration.
Survived by his wife, two sons: Franklin D. Backman, Bountiful, Utah; Bret C. Backman (Ruth), Federal Way, Wash.; two daughters: Leanna Fox (Harold), of Seattle, Wash.; and Miriam Jones (Rick), Puyallup, Wash.; 20 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two sisters; Mary (Sidney G.) Baucom, Jean (J. Tim) Blanchard, of Salt Lake. Preceded in death by son, Laury K. Backman (Laurel).
