Jay Oliver Jenson, age 69, died at home, December 21, 1993.

He was born to Oliver C. and Ellen Smith Jenson September 12, 1926 in Cedar City, Utah. He was educated in Cedar City. During World War II he was a staff sergeant in the China, Burma, India theater in the Army Engineer Corp.He was an accomplished contractor and builder in his early years after World War II. In his later years he worked for a bridge contractor on the interstate highway. He was recognized for his expertise in both heavy construction and municipal buildings. He was an expert cabinet maker and finished carpenter.

Jay had great love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He married Betty Miller in 1946. They had four children; late divorced. Married Viva Coldwell; she preceded him in death. Was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a granddaughter.

He is survived by three sons, David, Robert (Rob) and Steve Jenson; daughter, Jeanne Mortenson; 11 grandchildren.

Services were held Thursday 23rd, 2 p.m., Southern Utah Mortuary. Interment in Cedar City Cemetery.
