That's twice that Jacque Vaughn has disappointed Bob Knight.

Knight hit the recruiting trail looking for a youngster who could replace Damon Bailey, Indiana's talented senior guard, and found a likely candidate in Vaughn. Unfortunately for the Indiana coach, Kansas coach Roy Williams found him, too, and eventually landed him.On Wednesday night, Vaughn stuck another dagger into Knight by sinking a 3-pointer inside the last second of overtime to give the sixth-ranked Jayhawks a 79-76 victory over the 12th-ranked Hoosiers.

"It seemed very strange to beat him. I have so much respect for coach Knight," said Vaughn, who nonetheless wasn't about to give back the shot.

"Sometimes," said Williams, who's been around a lot longer than Vaughn, "special people are put in special situations like that. Sometimes youngsters are given an opportunity to make big plays and Jacque made that. He'll remember that for the rest of his life."

Bailey, held to six points in the first half, was spectacular in the second with 30 points, almost singlehandedly rallying Indiana (5-2) from a 39-30 deficit early in the second half.

Bailey, who missed a 3-pointer at the end of regulation, made two free throws to give the Hoosiers a 72-70 lead at the start of overtime and his jumper made it 83-83 with 18.3 seconds left.

No. 3 Duke 79, Iowa 76

Cherokee Parks scored 18 points and Antonio Lang and Chris Collins had 17 each for Duke (6-0), which made Iowa (5-2) its second straight Big Ten victim.

No. 5 Kentucky 100, Ohio St. 88

Kentucky (6-1) neutralized Ohio State's inside strength with the 3-pointer, with Tony Delk hitting 7-of-11 and Travis Ford 4-of-10. Ford finished with 27 points and Delk had 23.

No. 11 Louisville 78,

No. 25 W. Kentucky 73

DeJuan Wheat scored 24 points, including a 3-pointer at the start of overtime that helped Louisville (5-1) avenge, barely, last year's 78-77 loss to the Hilltoppers (3-2).

No. 13 Arizona 70, No. 18 Boston College 65

The last of four ties was 63-63 with 1:39 left on a tip-in by Arizona's Joe Blair. After Billy Curley, who led BC (7-1) with 19 points, missed a jumper with 1:14 left, Arizona (8-0) grabbed the rebound and called a timeout. Reggie Geary connected from the left corner with 1:00 showing on the clock.

Missouri 108, No. 19 Illinois 107 3OT

Freshman Kiwane Garris of Illinois (6-2) missed a chance to win the game in the first overtime when he was called for charging with 4 seconds left. With time expired in the second, Garris, a 96-percent foul shooter, missed two free throws. Given two reprieves, Missouri (6-1) won it at the free throw line.

LaZelle Durden hit a 3-pointer, Dontonio Wingfield a jumper and Keith Gregor two free throws in the last three minutes as Cincinnati (8-2) held on after Miami (3-3) clawed within 65-63.

No. 21 Syracuse 81, Miami, Fla. 52

Adrian Autry and Lawrence Moten each hit four 3-pointers and Syracuse (7-1) hit 11 in 21 tries in burying Miami (6-2), which had led the Big East in shooting defense and scoring defense.
