Rich Rogers is one of Santa's elves as he carries a bicycle through the Christmas Center, which was packed with presents Wednesday. The center is headquarters for the Christmas Community Council, which wrapped up its annual drive to collect toys for needy children Wednesday. Rogers, volunteer coordinator representing Commissioner Jim Bradley, was one of dozens of volunteers who made the massive annual enterprise a success - along with tremendous community support. He's surrounded by presents that will be distributed through the Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune Sub for Santa, Salvation Army, KUTV Angel Tree, U.S. Marines Toys for Tots and other gift-giving programs that should bring delight to their recipients Christmas morning. Thousands of Utahns opened their hearts and their wallets this holiday season to make sure that no child would be left out when the gifts are opened.
