Bulletin for homesick folks who are longing to see the family on Christmas but just can't afford that flight: Now you can fly anywhere in the contiguous states for no more than $129 round-trip.

The catch to the Delta Air Lines promotion is that both flights in the round trip must be on Christmas Day."We've seen a tremendous influx already" of people taking advantage of the new offering, said Bob Harper, Delta spokesman at the corporate offices in Atlanta. "A lot of people are giving this as a Christmas gift."

The round-trip fares are $79 for a destination up to 500 miles away; $99 for 501 to 1,000 miles; and $129 for more than 1,000. By comparison, he told the Deseret News, a round-trip ticket between New York and Los Angeles normally is $428.

Christmas Day fares require no advance purchase, though tickets can be bought ahead of time, he said. They are non-refundable and can't be combined with any other fares. No other special discounts will apply.
