There are some very innovative ski program available at ski areas in Utah for all ability levels, including first-time skiers, children, seniors and recreational racers.

Some of those include:Snowbird Ski School offers three, four-day women's seminars, which include five hours daily of coaching, lectures, video analysis and gate drills. The workshops are taught by women instructors who hold degrees in education, sports psychology and health fitness.

Snowbird is well known for handling the special needs of physically challenged skiers of all ages, with instruction available for sled, amputee and mentally disadvantaged skiers through the school. The ski area offers a comprehensive mogul program and a senior program.

Park City Ski Area also offers programs, equipment and lessons for physically challenged skiers.

Deer Valley hosts a "Ladies Only" clinic for upper intermediate skiers. Conducted by women instructors, the course is designed to build confidence and develop skills in a supportive atmosphere.

Two-time Olympian and Park City Ski area's director of skiing, Holly Flanders, hosts the Ladies Ski Adventure and Performance Workshops for men and women. The three-day seminars are coached by women, and incorporate many of the mental techniques that Flanders used to become successful in her racing career.

Park City Ski Area has a "Never Too Late" program, taught by senior instructors, that guides senior skiers through a progression of specially developed learning steps geared toward skiing with ease, enjoyment and style.

Alta Ski Lifts' Silver Masters program is similarly geared for the 50-plus skier.
