Holtz, 29, agreed to a four-year contract and will earn $89,000 and an additional $6,000 for external affairs responsibilities. Holtz replaces Tom Jackson, who resigned Nov. 17 after the Huskies finished 6-5. UConn is considering a move from Division I-AA to Division I-A.Holtz is in his fourth year as an Irish coach and second as offensive coordinator. He also coached receivers at Colorado State in 1989 following two years as a graduate assistant at Florida State.
