Lt. Gov. Olene Walker accepts the keys to the first electric vehicle in the state motor pool fleet Monday from Joe LaStella, president of Battery Automated Transportation. Walker took the Ford Ranger pickup truck for a test drive and reported that the vehicle, whose batteries are good for 100,000 miles of operation before they need replacement, ran quietly and smoothly.
