The Layton Hills Mall has opened a new security office and is sharing it with the Layton Police Department.

The new office, located on the lower level, south end, near Aladdin's Castle, opened Dec. 17.Doyle Talbot, Layton police chief, said the office will serve as a special substation for his officers who work in the area. He said they can use it to complete reports and that it ties into his plans of having officers organized into neighborhood watches.
