We will miss our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Charles Ellsworth (Chuck) Brownrigg, who died of cancer at home on the eve of December 23, 1993 with his family at his side. He was 78.

Born May 16, 1915 in Walthill, Nebraska to Charles Ellsworth and Muzetta Barker Brownrigg. Married Ruth Jeanette Hill on June 5, 1937 in Oakland, Calif. She left his side to prepare a way for him on November 7, 1993.Chuck was the loving father to Lynda Fisher of Tucson, Ariz.; Sandra Clark and Chuck, Salt Lake City; very special grandfather of 12; great-grandfather of 15; uncle to many; brother of Elenor Hansen, San Pablo, California. Preceded in death by brothers Harry, Don and John.

Chuck served in the CCC as a young man in the Black Hills of South Dakota and the Sand Hills of Nebraska fighting fires, building roads, planting trees and as an educational advisor. He moved to California in 1936 where he was employed in the dry cleaning business for many years. He traveled west to east, making Salt Lake his home in 1955.

Chuck loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed being with his family around the campfires. He like to work in his shop and feeding and watching birds. Chuck never forgot a name and through the years, made many friends throughout his career with Service, Inc. and GK Services.

After his retirement, he went to real estate school and dedicated his time to his family and those in need. The work he did as a driver for Neighborhood House fulfilled his great desire to help others.

At his request, his body will be donated for cancer research. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Chuck's name to the American Cancer Society.

Special thanks to Charlie Gregor and Dr. John Weis.
