Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, William Hofmann, 64, returned to his Heavenly Father, February 21, 1993. He died in a Salt Lake Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Born November 6, 1928, in Zurich, Switzerland, to K. Edward and Margarete Albisser Hofmann. He married his sweetheart, Lucille (Lue) Sears on December 1, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple. Served in the Netherlands mission, 1948-51. Served in bishoprics in California and Utah and in many other church callings. Ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple for 10 years. Served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a sales representative for Pitney Bowes for 24 years. He enjoyed working with his hands and helping others. Hires and Hershey's were his special treats. His grandchildren were his greatest joy.Survived by his wife; daughters, Heidi (David) Daniels and Jody (Guy) Spencer; son Mark W.; 12 grandsons and four granddaughters; sisters, Rosa Resch, Ruth Woolley, Nelly (Chet) Clark, and Betty (Bud) Eatchel; and brothers, Emil and Ronald (Pat) Hofmann. Preceded in death by brothers, Edward and Richard; and sisters, Margaret, Ella and Gloria.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 25th, 12 noon, at the Union Fort 2nd Ward, 540 East 7200 So. Friends may call Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 S. 2300 East, and at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the services.
