Bert D. Reese, 78, of Smithfield, died Friday, March 5, 1993 in Casa Grande, Arizona.
He was born May 1, 1914, in Benson, Utah a son of Alma Victor and Rhoda Woolf Reese. He married Eve Jarvis on May 23, 1934 in Logan. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.He was a long time dairy farmer and livestock dealer. He was twice president of the Smithfield Kiwanis Club, former member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and member of the Logan Golf and Country Club. He had served as a Seventy in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was a former president of the Benson Ward Mutual Improvement Association and with his wife, a long time dance director in the Cache Stake.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, and following his retirement spent the winters in Arizona.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Jarvis Reese, Smithfield; three sons and a daughter and their spouses, Daren and Melva Reese, Salt Lake City; Thomas and Dixie Reese, Benson; Nansi and Ralph Roylance, Smithfield; Michael and Ann Reese, Pocatello; two sisters, Harriet Eliason and Afton Smith, Logan; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Allen-Hall Mortuary. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Smithfield Cemetery.
