Alexander Wright of the Los Angeles Raiders won his second consecutive NFL's Fastest Man competition Saturday, edging Michael Haynes of the Atlanta Falcons by one-hundredth of a second.

Wright covered the 60 yeards in 6.19 seconds to win $25,000, Haynes finished in 6.20 and earned $15,000.The eighth annual event was held at the Empire Polo Club in this desert community east of Los Angeles. Temperatures soared to 116 degrees at midday.

"Winning this event means increased name recognition," said Wright, a wide receiver who was traded to the Raiders last season from the Dallas Cowboys. "Now my job is to translate the speed I have on the track onto the football field so I can score some touchdowns."
