David J. Jordan, who abruptly resigned as U.S. attorney for Utah this week, has joined the Salt Lake office of Stoel Rives Boley Jones & Grey where he will be a partner and direct the litigation portion of the Portland-based law firm.

A native of West Point, N.Y., Jordan received his law degree from Vanderbilt University in 1979. He has been vice chairman of the U.S. Attorneys General Advisory Committee and is a former administrative law judge for the Utah Procurement Appeals Board.Prior to his appointment as U.S. attorney in 1991, he was a partner in the Salt Lake law firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy.
