Chevrolet will replace its "Heartbeat of America" slogan next spring, an official for the General Motors Corp. division said.

"It was the consensus of consumers, our dealers and our own marketing people that it is time to signal the renaissance of the Chevrolet product line," Jim Perkins, general manager of Chevrolet, GM's largest division, said Thursday.A new slogan will be announced when the new midsize Lumina sedan and Monte Carlo coupe are introduced next spring.

"Heartbeat of America" has been Chevy's slogan since 1987.
