Naomi Nelson Robertson passed away peacefully January 23, 1994, at her home in Kaysville.
Born December 18, 1900, in Milton, Utah, to Waldemar T. and Karen M. Jensen Nelson, she was the youngest daughter in a family of fifteen. She married Leroy Robertson September 1, 1925. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died 1971. Naomi grew up in Milton and Morgan, where she received her early schooling. She continued her education at Weber College (now WSU), and then graduated from the AC (now USU) in 1924.As a new teacher at Pleasant Grove High, she met her future husband, and upon her marriage she moved to Provo, where Dr. Robertson was Professor of Music at BYU. In 1948, when Dr. Robertson became Head of the Music Department at the U of U, she came to Salt Lake City, and here she lived until recently.
A lady of dignity and charm, she was a popular member and officer of many civic organizations. A devout LDS, she served her church in many capacities on both ward and stake levels. Above all, Naomi was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who always placed her family first and foremost.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Renee R. and Stephen Whitesides, of Kaysville; Jim and Bonita Robertson, Karen R. and Gary Post, Dr. Marian R. and W. Keith Wilson, all of Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Reid Nelson of Downey, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 27, 1994, 12 noon, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Lawn.
