Rex Melvin Pedersen, Sr., 71, died December 18, 1994 in Heber City, Utah.

Born June 25, 1923 in Park City, Utah to Alma H. and Jennie Wheeler Pedersen. Married Velma Viola Thompson Neel December 2, 1946 in Salt Lake City.Member, LDS Church. Former resident of Park City, graduate of Park City High School. Served in the Army during World War II. Member of the B.P.O.E. Worked in the Park City Mines for 34 years, also worked road construction and was a Security Guard for Noranda Mining Company.

Survived by children: Sharon L. Leatham, Pacific Grove, Calif.; Judy A. Bourgeois, Salt Lake City; Rex M. Pedersen, Jr., Heber City; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Alma Pedersen, Mrs. Ken (Carol) Colovich, Midway; Monroe Pedersen, Mrs. Tom (Ethel) Dudley, Heber City; Clarence Pedersen, Mrs. Dale (Donna) Alvey, Silver Creek; Mrs. Ted (Ruth) Staker, Park City; Norma Cowin, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a brother, Ray Pedersen and three sisters, Ellen Pedersen, Betty Nyman and Lola Averson.

Funeral services Thursday, 1 p.m., at Olpin Mortuary, where friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services. Burial: Heber City Cemetery.
