Lee Venoy Neilson, 83, died Sunday, December 18, 1994 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on October 18, 1911, in Redmond, Utah a son of Jacob Christen and Johannah Ukerman Neilson. On June 2, 1941 he married Mary Ingrid Anderson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Graduated from Utah State University. Worked in Agriculture in Texas and Utah. He spent many years working in the Copper and Uranium Mines in Nevada, Montana, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah.
He was a High Priest in the LDS Church. He had served in the Elders and Seventies and the Young Men's Athletic Program. He served on the city council in Richfield, Utah. He ran an insulation business and took great pride in modern efficient insulation homes.
Surviving are his four sons, Kelvin Neilson, Ventura, Calif.; Norman Neilson, Mojave, Calif.; DeLoy Neilson, Kaysville; Hal Neilson, Ogden; one daughter, May Neilson, Ogden; 14 grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Dale Neilson, Portland, Oregon; Jay Neilson, Lakewood, Colorado; one sister, Delta Williams, Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son and one grandson, two brothers and two sisters.
The family will meet friends at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., on Tuesday, December 20, 1994 from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 1994 at 1 p.m. at the Thomas First Ward, West of Blackfoot, Idaho.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
