Dan Byer, president of Park City Construction Co., said he is completing the necessary paperwork involved with his company's purchase of the old Veteran's Hospital at 12th Avenue and E Street and the old Primary Children's Medical Center, 320 12th Ave.
Park City Construction has reached an agreement with Intermountain Health Care to purchase both buildings and 28 acres. Asked what would be built on the property, Byer said he will abide by the restrictive covenants that IHC agreed to with the Avenues Community Council earlier this year. Those covenants call for not more than four single-family dwellings per acre. Without being specific, Byer said the company will build low-density custom homes and presumably both old buildings will be razed.
Both buildings have been virtually vacant for four years. The Primary Children's Medical Center moved to its new location at 100 N. Medical Drive in 1990 and the Veterans Hospital moved to 500 Foothill Blvd. in 1952.
