There'll be no more clowning around for Bozo's beloved sidekick.

"I am the luckiest guy in the world to have worked at a job I loved, and I'm going to miss it dearly," Roy Brown said Monday in Chicago, announcing his retirement as Cooky the Clown.Brown won an Emmy in 1992 for his portrayal of Cooky, and the character was inducted into the Clown Hall of Fame in 1993.

Brown began portraying Cooky in 1970, playing Bozo the Clown's sidekick on the popular children's show broadcast on the WGN-TV superstation.

"Cooky was the heart and soul of the show for 24 years," said Al Hall, producer of the show.
