Authorities have identified two Salt Lake couples as the victims in a Sunday plane crash.

Killed were: Craig M. Peterson, 52; wife Marla Peterson, also 52; John Ray Shelton, 48; and wife Nadine Shaw Shelton, 32.The single-engine Piper PA-32 Lance was registered to Craig Peterson, who radioed air traffic control Sunday evening that he was going below radar. Minutes later, the plane's emergency locator transmitter activated.

Rescue crews spotted the plane wreckage on a steep ridgeline in the Cedar Mountains 50 miles west of Salt Lake City and two miles south of I-80.

Peterson was a law partner with the Salt Lake firm Littlefield & Peterson. The Sheltons operated Pehrson's Power Equip-ment in Midvale.
