Dr. Jeffrey D. Gold fits Lyndsee Costello, 10, with eye glasses. Three Utah businesses - Paradise Optical, Carrera Eye Wear and United HealthCare of Utah - teamed up with Human Services for the "Gift of Sight" program. They will provide eye exams and fit 200 pairs of glasses for needy children. The service, from eye exam to presenting the glasses, is designed to improve life for children whose families might have a tough time affording the glasses. The program's sponsors say that children who can't see the blackboard have a tough time doing well in school, and that hurts their self-esteem.
