Top-ranked Timpview continues to get by - just barely. The latest triumph, a 70-64 overtime decision over Northridge Wednesday, improves the Thunderbirds to 8-0 overall.
Leading 53-45 after three quarters of play, Timpview allowed the Knights to pull even with an 8-0 run to open the fourth quarter.Northridge stayed even throughout the balance of regulation and even had a shot to win it at the buzzer, but a 15-foot shot at the horn missed the mark.
Timpview countered in overtime with a 7-0 run to remain undefeated.

At Cottonwood, Mekeli Wesley hit two free throws with three seconds remaining as the Bulldogs edged the Colts.
Wesley, a sophomore, finished with a game-high 17 points. Meanwhile, Troy Brown and Tyson Brooks finished with 15 points apiece for Cottonwood.
Wasatch 76, Bear River 62
At Bear River, Mike Witkamp led all scorers with 21 points to help the Wasps rally past the Bears. Wasatch overcame a 34-27 halftime deficit by outscoring Bear River 49-28 in the second half. Jared White led the Bears with 15 points.
Tabiona 86, Mount Vernon 48
At Tabiona, Shiloh Rhoades scored 19 points and Monty Nay added 16 as the Tigers blasted Mount Vernon.
West Jordan 78, Skyline 57
At Skyline, Ben Curtis exploded for a game-high 28 points, hitting five three-pointers, to lead the Jaguars past the Eagles. Ryan Nemelka contributed 13 points for West Jordan, while Dave Johnson led Skyline with 12.
Taylorsville 61, Hillcrest 42
At Taylorsville, Mark Michaelis powered the Warriors past the Huskies with 18 points. Scott Young added 13 to the winning effort, while Dane Ishihora had 18 for Hillcrest.
Hunter 54, Olympus 48
At Olympus, Cory Reiser led a balanced Wolverine attack with 15 points in toppling the Titans. Danny Palmer added 12 and Dustin Pearce 11 to the winning cause.
Box Elder 66, Cyprus 57
At Box Elder, Mark Larsen's 22 points lifted the fifth-ranked Bees past the Pirates. Chad Huntsman led Cyprus with 20.
Richfield 67, Uintah 35
At Richfield, Scott Cuff scored 17 points in the Wildcats' rout of the fifth-ranked Utes. Richfield led 20-9 after one quarter, 31-15 at halftime and 51-25 at the end of three periods.
Oakland Fremont 57, Cedar City 56
At Las Vegas Classic, David Evans scored 23 points and teammate Karl Bohman added 17 in a losing effort for the Redmen. Robert Grissom led the Californians with 18 points.
Mtn. View 64, Turlock, Calif. 42
At Las Vegas Classic, Jared Hunsaker and Jake Fugal scored 13 and 10 points respectively to lead the Bruins past one of northern California's finest. Mountain View led 34-16 at halftime.

At Las Vegas Classic, J.J. Neilsen scored 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as the Mustangs prevailed.

At Las Vegas Classic, Lincoln Taylor, who finished with 19 points, helped the Lions take a 36-32 halftime lead, but it wasn't enough. Baton Rouge stormed back with some Louisiana lighning - outscoring Payson 41-21 down the stretch.

At Juab, Mike Allred and J.C. Reed each scored 13 points as the Wasps opened region play with a narrow win over the Bulldogs. Mike Christensen of Gunnison led all scorers with 17.

At Parowan, Brandon Barney scored 24 points and Nick Roberts chipped in 17 as South Sevier won the battle of Rams.
