Five-year-old Ryan hugs his seven-month-old stepbrother David in Neath, West Glamorgan, after the High Court in London ruled that Ryan be handed over to his American father. Ryan's mother, Gina Payne, says the U.S. Supreme Court awarded her custody of her American-born son after she split up with her husband. She says she was denied legal aid and therefore was not aware of the High Court hearing.
