Whenever Granite High plays basketball, it's not unusual to see a hundred points scored. The only problem for the Farmers, though, is that it's usually the other team that reaches the century mark.

Thursday night was different, however. It's a night that will not be soon forgotten by the Farmer faithful as Granite (2-5) not only got a rare win, but did the almost unthinkable by walloping Park City (0-8) by a score of 105-77.

"I know we've had a hundred scored on us a lot of times, but I don't remember us ever scoring one hundred points," said Ron Burnside who is in his eighth season as the Farmer's head coach.

Matt Zito and Maurice Hamilton scored 18 points apiece, Brandon Terry added 17 and Steve Walton had 15 to lead the Farmer onslaught.

Granite used a 14-3 run at the end of the first half to go into the locker room with a 54-33 lead and pull away for good. The Farmers stretched the lead to 34 points before emptying the bench.

David Behnke led the Miners with 20 points, while teammate Gary Rosenthal chipped in 17 in the losing effort.
