Nellie May Burtenshaw Mathis, age 94, passed away Monday, December 19, 1994 in Bountiful, Utah.
Born October 11, 1900 in Woods Cross, Utah, the daughter of Thomas C. and Amanda J. Gwynn Burtenshaw. Married John Lloyd Mathis, June 18, 1941. He died October 23, 1974. As a member of the LDS Church, she served in ward and stake positions. Also served in civic organizations. With her husband, she operated the Mathis Fruit Farm for many years. She retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Co. She was a member of the DUP Eutaw Camp.Survived by two stepsons, Joe R. Mathis, Nevada; and Colonel Jerry F. Mathis, Virginia; also several cousins. Preceded in death by a sister, Rhoda J. Smith.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where friends may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
